According to study, every 100g of dried black fungus has 10.6g of protein, 0.2g of fat, 65g of carbohydrate, 7g of coarse fibre, 0.375g of calcium, 0.201g of phosphorus, 0.185g of iron, together with 0.15mg of vitamin B1, and 0.55mg of vitamin B2. Therefore, black fungus can cools the blood, arrests bleeding, benefits the flow of qi, nourishes the middle region, produces body fluids to nourish the stomach and lubricate the lungs. It is also often used as a blood tonic, discharging blood from the anus, treating bloody dysentery, unusual vaginal bleeding and hemorrhoids.
